Created to celebrate the Winter Solstice and the inevitable brightening of our days.
Usually I try to make my landscapes look as photoreal as possible but here I was going for a bit more of a painterly look. I deliberately held back on some details that I normally would have obsessed over.
The inspiration for this piece came as I was taking my son to school one recent frosty, foggy morning as the sun rose. The contrast between the struggling light and the cold was so striking and I knew I wanted to render it somehow.
Created and rendered in 3D using Vue d'Esprit.
