I think of the first man as someone who shared a deep connection with the world around him. someone whose sense of self and identity was deeply rooted in the world which he interacted with daily. One who revered nature and made a culture out of that reverence. One who never thought himself as separate from nature but instead as a part of it. For as death so is life and as light so is darkness he gave thanks to nature and accepted processes and activities beyond his control. i like to think of the metaphorical Adam as African.
