I have always been one to emphasize the value of dedication in photography; putting in the extra mile and waking up early if you are truly determined to get the photo you have in mind.
For this particular image, I woke up at 4 AM to drive 2 hours north into the mountains of New Hampshire. I hiked a fairly popular trail for sunrise, and upon reaching the summit, I looked for a way to distance myself from the crowds and find a unique vantage point.
This small rock outcropping ended up being exactly what I was looking for. It provided an excellent view of the foliage as well as the cloud system making its way through the valley.
This piece is true to its name, as it showcases one of the most vivid displays of fall color I’ve seen in my life time. The fiery oranges and reds ignite my soul and passion to explore.
