Within my street photography work, I prioritise the composition of the image by eliminating as many distractions from the frame as possible. Creating a minimalistic style of street photography; utilising shapes, colour, light & shadow and the inhabitants of the cities I visit going about their every day lives.

Scouting locations around Cardiff in December, the night before a workshop, I came across this brightly coloured underpass with a great reflection on the floor caused by that evening's pouring rain.

By lining up the right side of the entrance to the edge of my view finder, I knew roughly where I needed to aim when someone of interest approached in the direction towards me. When this hooded person was halfway into the walkway I got into position. Fortunately, they were walking directly in line with the light on the ceiling and strip of concrete on the floor creating a frame within a frame.
