In July 2021, catastrophic floods hit both China, the place where I was born and raised, and Germany, the place where I work and live, just within one week. The consequences are devastating, causing the lives of thousands upended and homelands to be destroyed.

This has sent a strong reminder to us that climate change is now resulting in more extreme weather across the globe.
