This image was captured on the Basque coast in the South West of France at a surf break known as The Cote des Basques, home to some of the most beautiful waves on the planet.

I particularly appreciate to shoot ocean landscapes at sunset, when the elements finally calm down, when the haze of the sky mingles with the foam of the waves in an uncluttered aesthetic.

Only the surfers disturbs the natural order and gives the ocean an evening tribute. The viewer finds himself a solitary contemplator of the immensity. It is man at peace with nature, as in a painting by Caspar Friedrich.
