Waiting in a long line trying to enter Arches National Park is not very fun, but when a great electrical storm is making its way through the park, it feels like everything will go wrong in that line. The people in front of me took what felt like forever as large cracks of thunder was heard in the distance. Once I got through the entrance gate, I took off trying to find a good overlook for bolts. Panorama Point was my spot for the day and there were waves of storms dropping bolts in this valley, giving me a great landing point view. This bolt is about 2-3 miles away from my location, but some were closer than that. Without a flinch from me, one landed less than a mile away. After that I had the whole parking lot to myself. A spectacular last chase day to end my month long trip chasing lightning in the southwest!
