About Giovanni Ferrero: Giovanni Ferrero inherited his family’s $13 billion candy empire in 2015. The world’s 40th richest man is executive chairman of the Nutella and Kinder confections business and the plant in Alba, Italy, produces 1,100 tons of sweets every day. When he bought Nestlé in 2018 for $2.8 billion, Ferrero became the world’s third largest candy maker. Two years later, the company posted nearly $15 billion in sales. The Piera, Pietro and Giovanni Ferrero Foundation was set up in 1983 as the “Ferrero Social Initiative” with its motto “Work Create Donate.” One of its initiatives includes national and international scholarships for up to €10,000.
