Several years ago, a really wise woman once challenged me to wait two weeks to voice my anger on an issue I had with somebody I cared deeply for. If after those two weeks I still felt the same anger, I was free to express it. Those were the most peaceful two weeks of that entire relationship. I was not caught up in hatred. I loved. I offered them the benefit of the doubt. I knew how I was feeling about their choices, but I took her advice and chose to not react. I was judging them for no justifiable reason... In fact, it had nothing to do with me. I judged because I did not agree with their personal choice. This is not a message to bottle your emotions. This is a suggestion that it might be worth challenging yourself every once in a while by not reacting. Perhaps if you're judging others when their behaviour is not hurting anyone, it might be time to ask yourself, "why does this REALLY bother me so much?" In my case, it was a trigger of childhood events that reveal themselves as fears now. Nothing to do with them. I thank this woman and my mind for sharing the truth with me.

Fever Dreamin’ is a multi-part collection of 1/1 NFTs. Each image was originally shot on 35mm film. I have adjusted the tone curves to transform each image into a combination of how I was feeling on a quiet night in Feb 2022 and how I dream of seeing the world.

10% of sales will be donated to the Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of BC.

Fever Dreamin' collection image

A quiet Saturday night in February 2022, for the first time in months, I felt fine. I didn't have a worry. 2021 was the most difficult year of my life, so I allowed myself to fully sink into this feeling. It soaked into my entire body and I was left feeling very creatively inspired. I pulled up my favourite shots I’ve taken on film and I was hit by a wave of relief. I felt it was time to let go of my expectations and try things differently. I fell deeply into my flow state - and in that moment, decided to drop my rules in both life and art.
