IIWII (It Is What It Is) is the debut collaboration between producers BRUX & The Kite String Tangle who are long time fans of each others work & friends who came up in the Australian electronic music circuit.

Danny Harley aka The Kite String Tangle is a Brisbane-based electronic/pop producer & artist with a string of gold certified releases (Arcadia, This Thing We Got) & awards (+ ARIA noms) under his belt. He is relatively new to web3, with this being his genesis collaborative drop on Sound.xyz with more to come..

Liz Maniscalco aka BRUX is a New York-based electronic producer & artist with a prominent web 3 presence and impressive catalog of collaborations (Kimbra, Flight Facilities, Pat Lok) including recent cosigns on her BADBOI ep from Boys Noise, Busy P & Modeselektor.

The track was written & produced by the pair, spawning from a jam session & synth nerd-out in Sydney, 2018. It was later finished off in Brisbane in between tour with a session at Dannys' music studio.

IIWII is a comment on the climate inaction, conceptually stemming from conversations about being on the precipice of great change & empathy fatigue over the constant barrage of nihilistic news coverage. The magnitude of the climate issue is so overwhelming that it's easy for us all to disengage & feel like our contributions are just a drop in the ocean.
