Surpanakha’s role in the Hindu epic Ramayana is small but extremely significant.

She is the demon king Ravana’s sister and after she felt humiliated by Rama and Lakshmana, she went and complained to her brother, Ravana. This incident started a chain of events that led to the epic battle where Ravana was slayed by RAMA.
