Visual animation by Hackatao, music by Chris Stein of Blondie, spoken word by Debbie Harry of Blondie.
This artwork is part of the project HACK THE BORDERS, an artistic collaboration between pioneer crypto artist duo Hackatao and Chris Stein + Debbie Harry of the legendary punk rock band BLONDIE. For this specific piece, Debbie Harry created and read a poem about borders, titled “Douane Zoll”. “Hack the Borders” itself symbolizes a true act, from both Hackatao and Blondie, of hacking all borders and boundaries, and ultimately the limits of narrow-mindedness.
DOUANE ZOLL
Borders of a personal nature cannot be denied
The limits of time and size
Bridges and tunnels cross the Hudson so often change my mind
One time I approached the ancient circle and through a barrier of a different kind
I don’t know what it was made of
But I do know how it felt and always will remember passing through this invisible magnetic line
Note: Three Artist Proofs of this work have been reserved by the artists. Edition numbers will be randomly assigned and distributed when the Open Editions close.
