"Ode to the Buidlers" is a card created with a photographic technique known as "Photogrammetry." Photogrammetry involves scanning an areaand converting the photos and video into 3D points (aka point cloud). Those points are then rendered in a 3D program and editing, lighting, and other effects are added to create the final piece.

The entire process took around 2 months to complete, as I had to build the stage for the card. The hardest part was actually contacting the various buidlers in the space to ask for their permission to use their PFPs in the card. Some of the buidlers I was able to successfully contact were:

  1. Punk 6529
  2. Richerd - Manifold
  3. Pravjin - Deca
  4. Justin Trimble - Stability AI
  5. Ben Strauss - Transient Labs
  6. Snowfro - Artblocks
  7. Claire Silver - Accelerate Art
  8. Rayan - Oncyber
  9. Fonz - Tokenproof
  10. Norcalguy - ClickCreate

I was then able to order poster-sized prints of their PFPs. After obtaining the prints, I scouted for an area that fit my parameters for a successful scan. This part took me an entire day from morning until night. It is very difficult, because finding the perfect area will determine if the card will be loopable or not. Once I decided on the location, I came back on a different day, put up the posters, scanned the area, and then proceeded to the next month's work of editing and production. I also invested in a beefier video card for the sole purpose of creating this card.

I wanted to create a card that demonstrated my effort and dedication to the Memes. Not only high effort but also something new and different with a theme. The location this was shot at is Euljiro, Seoul, South Korea. This is an area where metal shop workers build components used in everyday machines and electronics. Not only that, but the sound recorded on the spot is also of the metal shop workers at their craft. And the PFPs are people who contribute to the web3 space with DApps we use in our everyday life.

Finally, the small blocks created through this technique can also be thought of as "The Buidler's Blocks."

The Memes by 6529 collection image

The Memes Collection is focused on the fight for the open metaverse (decentralization, community, self-sovereignty) and spreading this message to many people, many wallets.

It is a collection that is meant to be open and accessible. Edition sizes will generally be large and inexpensive, to spread the word and to avoid gas wars.

We will try to have a good time along the way, make some fun art, do great collabs and just generally have a good time.
