Act One in the "META KEMET" Collection; A historic series of meticulous artworks telling the true story of the Egyptian Revolution. Animated in collaboration with Elie Eid.

I was born and raised in an Egypt were Mubarak was like an untouchable God and his regime was its religion, His presence as the Pharaoh was well concreted in the system and all of its roots. His photo was hung in every classroom and every office, idolized by the hungry poor people who had no choice but to obey.

In 2011 taking down Mubarak was not only an far fetched miracle, but it was disrupting Egypt in every way. I was always inspired by the idea of the people pulling down a statue of the unjust ruler, while never happening in the literal sense in Egypt, protesters were pulling down images and posters of Mubarak that were plastered all over Egypt during the uprising which inspired the imagery of Egyptians pulling down a pharaonic statue of Mubarak giving them the middle finger.
