I never work with preconceived themes or concepts. And I tend to just do things that feel right, which somehow link with the world around me. This work is tied to something that is happening in crypto right now. I have heard “Pigs to the slaughter” a lot while working on this piece.

And unconsciously that became the central narrative behind this work. The woman clad in gold is a representation of the wealth that is being promised. Her eyes are covered to keep us wondering about what lies in store for us. Her hand inviting us over, welcoming us into her world. The chains are the bindings we are not afraid of. She expects commitment, and we are going to give it.

But underneath it all, it is crumbling. The house she invites us into, decaying, and showing us the ruins of a once glorious past. But with such a bright and bountiful promise, will we be able to see the path she is leading us onto?
