1- A rhizome (from Ancient Greek: rhízōma "mass of roots”) is a modified subterranean plant stem that sends out roots and shoots from its nodes. Rhizomes develop from axillary buds and grow horizontally. The rhizome also retains the ability to allow new shoots to grow upwards.

2- Deleuze and Guattari use the terms "rhizome" and "rhizomatic" to describe theory and research that allows for multiple, non-hierarchical entry and exit points in data representation and interpretation.

Due to our anthropocentric vision of the world we tend to detach ourselves from nature and see it as a different other than ourselves, when we are really nothing more than a creation and extension of it. And in the same way that we see ants between roots walking, nature does the same with us between the streets of cities.

We behave and live by omitting its rules, but at the same time, we confuse our own merits with natural inertia. The technology we "invent" always comes from nature, and thanks, or because of it, we continue to evolve.

Although evolution does not always mean progress.
