Part of my single edition "Legacy" series, "Daydreamer" was made after "Lions, Tigers, and Bears." This is meant to be a relaxing piece after the challenge of making "Lions, Tigers,..." The image of a cat sleeping on a balloon seemed curious to me when I envisioned it. Funny enough, the clouds were the most challenging, since I had to find a crafty solution to making them. Instead of using volumes, which would look too realistic, the clouds are actually hair fibers that are rendered as tubes grown from a torus shape. Such objects were memory intensive during rendering, because the computer would have to calculate all those minuscule light bounces.
I particularly enjoy the imagery, which has a cathartic element that's somehow interesting to have for my more modern metaNaturalist pieces.
The piece was completed latter-2018. The image is archived as a lossless .PNG, and sized up to a printable 24.997" x 30" (7499 x 9000 px).
