Ever since moving to Los Angeles I've had the pleasure of doing a bunch of sessions with talented vocalists. The process has taught me how to be comfortable in a room and make people feel ready to record, all while trying to be quick on my feet as a producer and catch a vibe with the artist I'm working with.
Over the past few months I've realized that most of the music I've made has been in sessions. And while I love vocal-driven music, I haven't really had the chance to sit back and do my own instrumental production experiments. When I look back on how I got started in music, so much of it was by myself sitting in a room twisting knobs and making odd sounds.
Honey is me taking a step back in that direction - it's a science experiment of a song that serves as my reminder to let go and have fun producing and to not take myself so seriously.
