It was a cold winter's night when I decided to set out on this astrophotography mission, I had a plan in mind and I was determined to make it happen. I was inspired to capture the entire scene of this incredible location!

I was delighted that there was no wind and the sky was clear when I arrived at Castle Hill in Canterbury, New Zealand.

This is a 360° image. It was made from 126 images that were taken in every direction. West is center frame, the left end of the Milky Way is the South, the right is the North, and the East is near the edges of the shot.

Airglow and the Zodiacal light can be seen to the far right, we can also see the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds to the Left.

This image is a classic of mine, it was a milestone in my desire to create multirow panoramic nightscape images.

This is an edition of 25, it is the first time I have released one.
