Liquid Sculpture - Using high speed photography I spend my time capturing the surreal impact of water drops colliding. The droplets exhibit a natural beauty of which I just adore exploring. In order to gain precision I use a water drop device that took me a few months to build and enhance with some customisation. In the process I have gained some new skills in electronics, physics and plumbing. This style of photography requires a lot of patience, skills and perfect conditions.
Once again this collection is a representation of where I am in my young art journey. It is a continuous search for inspiration within the liquid art genre. I am teaching myself to master this craft by exploring and pushing every aspect of it to set new boundaries, boundaries that I set. This art is my incarnation of my growth, my ability to adapt, to be resourceful, creative and survive during a very unique time in both my life and this world.
I really wanted to create a collection that had a luxurious feel to it. I filled the device with different golds and thickened the water up.
With this piece I am using the technique of compressed air to push water jet up and then collide with water drops falling from above. People have asked me if it is a stick but it is actually the compressed air shooting up from below. With the right amount of pressure it can withstand a few different drops colliding with it.
