The Peloponnesian War is a collection of 200 images that retells the story of Thucydides' History of the Peloponnesian War using Ancient Greek vase imagery. Created over four years using an iPhone 6S and iPhone X, the series juxtaposes three different systems of signification: 1) text fragments from The Peloponnesian War by Thucydides 2) Greek vase paintings and 3) elements from contemporary society and intellectual history, including mathematical formulas, corporate logos, web advertisements, information theory diagrams, newspaper fragments and more. In this respect, the project became a kind of alchemy of meaning, a war of all signification against all signification.
Cards 9, 93 (119), 102 (130), 117 (145), 151 (182) and 181 (168) were minted on the SuperRare contract and are unavailable here.
