MOROS - THE HARVESTER OF SOULS The ancient legend of Moros, The Harvester of Souls, began well over 2,000 years ago, and remains one of the most mysterious origins of the now infamous Samhain harvest festival of the ancient Celts.

Rooted in sporadic ancient texts around the globe, most heavily in rare Celtic scrolls from before the time of Christ, references to Moros are few and far between. However, the common nature of their stories all resonate with one another, sparking debate as to how real Moros actually is; as cultures that were separated by centuries and continents all share the same tale, over and over again.

Moros is described to be a malevolent and enigmatic entity from the underworld, it's told he emerged from the dark abyss during a pinnacle dark night during harvest season, when the boundaries between worlds were at their thinnest.

Moros is said to be a reaper of the souls of the departed, harvesting his take of the year's yield of damned spirits, during the time that is now known as the Samhain festival, guiding them to the afterlife and ensnaring them in his web of darkness. For centuries, tales of the shadowy figure, adored with demonic horns, and fingers soaked with the blood of the damned, was said to be seen in the fields, villages, and even in the dreams of the loved ones closest to the departed.

His arrival signaled the birth of several cults, who all found themselves drawn to his sinister power, practice rituals in his name on the night of Samhain. From ancient times to this day, cults seek to harness the dread of Samhain to unlock forbidden knowledge and gain dominion over the realms beyond. It is believed that Moros hungers for the fear and despair of mortals, and in the darkest cultist circles, they offer human sacrifices to appease him and ensure his continued malevolent presence.
