Humans have always had this fascination with gods and heroes and messiahs; basically anything bigger than ourselves or higher than ourselves that we can use as a sort of psychological crutch for our own perceived inadequacies.

Trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who believed in God and Jesus, though, made me wonder what it might feel like if I was convinced of its truthfulness... Would I feel guilty for not being good enough? Would I be afraid of what happens if I do something wrong? Or would I feel like there's some kind of higher meaning behind everything around me?

I think it's important to understand the psychology of soldiers at war because it can give us insight into how they got there in the first place. These men and women are fighting for their lives against an enemy who wants them dead; they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by believing in their cause. The more I read about how people behave when faced with death or other kinds of extreme stressors, the more I realized that this kind of blind faith isn't just limited to religion… it could apply equally well towards anything from nationalism (like how many Nazis felt compelled by duty) to communism (like how Soviet soldiers fought valiantly against overwhelming odds during WWII).

It's time we took a step back and evaluated the beliefs that are holding us back.

We must break free from the false promises of the Bible and the State.

Your sacrifice will go unrewarded.

This 1/1 cover will be provided as both a digital and physical copy.
