Numerous elements have to align when chasing the larger ocean slabs. Winds, swells and tides play a huge factor in forming waves worthy of photographing. Chasing the perfect weather conditions has consumed the last 10 years of my photography career.
Sometimes the elements align and it is as though you are in the right place at the right time, or sometimes you just get lucky.
This particular day I was chasing a wave called the "Left", a heavy ocean slab on the South coast of WA. Two locals came to play and the weather conditions were just right. I didn't realise I had captured this moment until sometime later.
