I'll never forget the first time I saw "Steve" (strong thermal emission velocity enhancement), an atmospheric optical phenomenon appearing as a ribbon of purple and green intertwined light in the sky.
It was in the fall of 2018 in my hometown of rural Manitoba, perched atop a hay bale watching as this delicate dance of colour arched and twisted overhead and across the horizon. I was spellbound, and in an instant, obsessed with capturing this nocturnal wonder in frame.
Four years later, in April of 2022, I was able to photograph this spectacle across many local mountains in and around Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, creating this time blend and composite of natures universal elements.
