On my last dive in Mexico before leaving for another adventure, I was able to cross one of the most beautiful dive sites off my bucket list.
Maravilla is a 50 m deep cenote in the middle of the jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula. With a diameter of 56 m and a sulfide cloud at about 28 m depth illuminated by a beam of light, the cenote blew me away. A place under the surface that seems like an endless blue hole - you lose the sense of distance and time. I could not fully grasp the dimension of this cenote until after the dive, where I came to the surface with tears in my eyes - tears of joy and gratitude to see and experience such beautiful places under the surface.
