In life, we wear many masks - especially those of us who are neurodivergent. Masking is a survival tactic - sometimes, it helps you blend into the background; other times, it makes you pass as typical. Masking can come from performing actions, simulating emotions, or even using technology to hide behind. To embrace and express this concept, I worked with AI to create colorful paper masks of different expressions, genders, and shapes.
