The rat is the first in the Chinese Zodiac. It is said that during the race, the rat was riding on the back of the ox and during the last moment, it jumped forward crossing the finish line just before the ox.

The personality of rats are very social, expressive and talkative. They like to be around people and they treat their friends like they are family. Rats are very hard-working people; they would give it all to achieve their goal. They are also very organized and are perfectionists.

Careers in business or politics are cited as good jobs for them. Whenever rats makes money, they spend it all; yet are very careful when lending it to others.
