Hello all,

My name is RIZ LA VIE, and this is my song, NITELITE. I began making this song in Malibu in May 2021, with my long time friend and creative partner Daniel Hartzog. I had brought Dan with me to Malibu after a shared traumatic loss of a friend, to create, swim, and heal, together. Out upon the hillside in Malibu, during our first weeks there, overlooking the expanse of ocean, we would see a giant full moon rise every night. A spectacle. My love of the moon is certainly not new but these felt like special views. I wrote the song about all things celestial, captivating, and endearing, the moon being the mascot of those qualities to me, and the chances of experiencing these qualities at all. I wrote about how, like a partner with an empathetic ear may hear out the woes of their loved ones from time to time, and may even occasionally lend guidance, the moon will listen like you are the only two in the universe, and how, like many instances in this life, if you take a moment to listen to it and give it the space to communicate, it just may reflect something you need to hear.

We continued working on NITELITE and the album at Dimension 70 Studios in NYC’s lower east side throughout June 2021, recording some sections just a couple days after broken collarbone surgery. It's a song that has always existed through and because of healing, support, and a bit of help from the cosmos. With a fresh coat of paint bringing it into 2022 and beyond, one of the guiding lights of my debut album is ready to see the light of day, and we’re very excited to present it to you all.

Space therapy, cosmic prayer, or shouting to the heavens, Nitelite is for moonlight lovers, chill thrill-seekers, and web3 natives. Y'all are amazing thanks for being an active part of this.
