‘Hands’ is an NFT collection by British artist King Overman, based on his viral art series painting life-size hands of Basketball legends. The videos for this project on Tik-tok have amassed over 4 million views and are included as part of this drop. This is the first of many ventures into NFTs by painter and sculptor King Overman, made possible by a collaboration with long-time friend and NFT maestro Sebastian Markiewicz of CompatibleCreative. Music is provided by popular Hip-Hop YouTuber, DJ Furio. King Overman is best known for his series ‘Ballers’, which features life-size portraits of Basketball icons. His work is collected by NBA legends and celebrities, including filmmaker Spike Lee who bought multiple paintings for his own collection. For this NFT release, King Overman has expanded his original five 'Hands' artworks into many more creative variations. The original pieces are painted onto 12” vinyls, which he has used to create NFTs of them spinning on a wall and rotating on a turntable, as well as additional colour schemes for the still images. He also includes the viral time-lapses that proved so popular on TikTok. DJ Furio provides the soundtrack for the time-lapse and turntable videos, with his unique style of retro Hip-Hop beats.
