In the summer of 2023, I set out on an expedition to the North Pole exploring some of the most remote and inhospitable regions of the globe. A land so white and savage where Polar Bears roam free.

Our expedition took us up the Canadian side of Baffin Bay before coming back down the west coast of Greenland. Navigating rough seas, high winds and pack ice as we headed ever further in to the unknown. Off the coast of Ellesmere Island, we spotted this beautiful female who had recently given birth taking a nap on the most perfect piece of ice. I like to think she was taking a moment to herself and getting away from the madness of her youngsters.

I have been very lucky to witness some incredible scenes in my three decades of travel but none have even come close to this moment. The effects of global warming are having a huge impact on the polar regions and the abundance of wildlife that call these regions home. It is imperative we do all we can to help preserve and protect their environment for the survival of these majestic animals, or moments like this will be lost to the sands of time, unable to be experienced by future generations.
