Akkorokamui or "Giant Octopus" アッコロカムイ This is a gigantic octopus-like monster is considered the equivalent to the Nordic Kraken. It is said that its enormous body can reach sizes of up to 120 meters in length. They are believed to be the cause of countless shipwrecks and ships lost at sea. Survivor stories speak of men being snatched off the decks of ships and dragged under the water to their death. Akkorokamui is described with the ability to self-amputate, like several octopus species, and regenerate limbs. It is because of this that Akkorokamui are believed to have healing powers.
