Natural nature is a beautiful thing.

This Willow tree grew from a tiny seed in an old fence post, fighting its way to the surface. First seen around 1939 it sits proud and strong, with a beautifully curved trunk, in Lake Wanaka, New Zealand. It isn't always in water as the lake recedes at times but as long as its feet are wet it will continue to survive.

Sunrise here is a magical thing. That perfect time of the morning when the light rises in the distance, framed by New Zealand's, snow capped Southern Alps and sweeps around towards the lake edge. It briefly hugs the tree , awakening the birds who are resting here and reminds them it is time to move on.

This 30 second long exposure smoothed the water for a pristine reflection while capturing the golden light.
