It is not fully clear which Prime ascended Yurusu. The story goes however that she spent her entire life trying to find forgiveness for something she had done in her past.

This 'sin' she had committed caused her to call forth a demon, an oni, which connected itself to her. She was almost lost to darkness - she would have been a powerful and dreadful force - but her drive to find forgiveness and do kind had an unexpected effect.

Instead of turning into a force of darkness, she became a demon blessed by light.... the Deity of Forgiveness.

People who pray to her have told stories about how their sins and bad deeds had been forgiven. The weight of them lifted from their shoulders, freed from burden, to pursue a life of light. However, one should not be mistaken. A simple prayer will not suffice to be forgiven.

The story goes that Yurusu will only forgive you if your prayer - and sacrifice - is equal to that for which you seek forgiveness. Many have been consumed by her when they were unable - or unwilling - to make the required sacrifice.

Be cautious when you decide to seek her out, as you might not realize the sacrifice you are required to make. She does carry a demon after all...

The name comes from translating 'to forgive' to Japanese (Yurusu).
