Lamu Town on the island of Lamu dates its history all the way back to the 14th century. The variety of cultures that have passed through create wonderful layers of architecture and history packed in every narrow corridor. In 2001, the town was designated a UNESCO site with the intent of preserving its unique insight into the blending of seafaring trading nations. Pictured here are just some of the island’s many speedboats, used with the same frequency as cars on the mainland.
