Hell’s Gate National Park sits roughly 90 km Northwest of Nairobi. Its volcanic and geothermal activity make for spectacular rock formations and a wealth of obsidian boulders strewn about the area. It’s also a popular location for cinematic inspiration, being both the reference for Disney’s The Lion King and a location for the Second Tomb Raider film. We spent a long afternoon with our Masai guide John learning about his tribe and hiking out to the reference spot for Pride Rock.
