A surprising cultural revelation was the significance of mall culture in Nairobi. We visited perhaps a half dozen shopping centers, all containing restaurants, grocery stores and shopping experiences worthy of the visit. With malls increasingly irrelevant in American culture, it was interesting to see the concept thriving elsewhere.
