The hack spreads. People illegally print and grow all manner of things, breaking free of Protacorp's central grid. Sam is livid. Jane doesn't agree with the decision to send Rook and his team after the Broadsiders. But Sam isn't listening. His entire company is under threat. He cracks down harder.

Zero and the Broadsiders use the hack to 3D print EMP weapons capable of taking out Protacorp's Marshal security force as they prepare to retaliate. Zero makes a speech in South City to the ever-growing crowd of protestors, injured Broadsiders and others who want to overthrow Protacorp. Our hero works with Zero to set up a pirate radio network in the hills above San Francisco. Zero urges our hero to lead the others, in a decentralized way - by empowering them.

Above the city, Rook establishes a digital surveillance network from a hexacopter security ship. There hasn't been much chatter, but he knows something is coming.
