In Norse mythology, Mjölnir is the hammer of Thor, the Norse God associated with thunder.

However, Thor also wielded an axe, equally powerful as the legendary hammer.

The axe, Gjölniar, was lost in the great battle at Stokmarknes, where Thor was nearly defeated fighting a foul creature from Hellhalla.
