“Portrait of a mountain” is a Photo Series based on the individuality of every mountain. As I traveled amidst these eternal structures of nature, I would find myself gazing at them endlessly and feel that the mountain is within me as if we are one. I would try to decode and ask myself, “Why do I look at a mountain? Why do I feel this sense of oneness?”. My questions would lead to various answers and some of these answers are reflected in these photographs I made. These mountains touched me in a particular moment that made me pick my camera and document their character. On a Spiritual level, mountains represent ‘Eternality’ for me. They were created millions of years ago and have watched the world pass by as they stood still. Every mountain is watching the world from that still perspective for millions of years and that adds character to them. It also adds a sense of life. This photo series is an attempt to showcase the tales of different mountains that I came across from 2014 till now. I decided to call them “Portrait of a mountain”.
