C12H17N2O4P - Psilocybe is a psychedelic mushroom growing worldwide. Its first known usage was by the natives of Central America and North America over 2,000 years ago. Known to the Aztecs as teonanácatl from Nahuatl: teotl "god" + nanácatl "fungus". This species was categorized by French botanist Roger Heim. It was from this species that Dr. Albert Hofmann, working with specimens grown in his Sandoz laboratory, first isolated and named the active entheogenic compounds psilocybin and psilocin.

This artwork is the elaboration of a table made in 1995 and left unfinished in black and white for 25 years. It portrays the moment of collection, which in an ideal shamanic path follows that of research and precedes that of the exploration of consciousness through the consumption of the sacred plant, in the picture a large Mexican variety. I felt that the perfect inking is not a possible goal and perhaps only an observer's opinion, so I decided to color this panel digitally with today's sensitivity, and tokenize this piece as it is, to closes an important personal circle. 3200 x 4489 px png, an adequate resolution to be able to appreciate the detail of the most hidden brush strokes.
