I started a project that involved recreating heroes, and I have been doing this project for over 10 years. In coming into superrare, a specific project that I started was the #StantheManLee project, which is a dedication of the specific heroes and genres that the man created. Now, many many many other artists have explored heroes and have created a subgenre of its own, with comic artists having a dynamic conversation with each other over the past century. I'm excited to continue on this tradition and to continue this tradition. With blockchain technology, the conversation adds a interesting collectible quality to the artwork, one that has never been capable before. The day after this great man's passing was a time when I started to put together these ideas, and I started with something that I've always wanted to do. A over-sized comic cover, hand painted on canvas. I spent a lot of time painting traditionally over the years, but I've never came back to put a fine hand to a work like this before. I created this painting originally for Memory of Stan Lee, and my first steps into Superrare. Over a 6 month process, it has been sectioned, animated and digitally tokenized.
