I get so lost in my own head sometimes. I tend to think about how people fall in and out of love so fast. I wonder how many people are meeting for the first time and how many are having their last meal. I think about how humans may run the world, but they don't own it. How they are the temporary consumers of a place so much greater, that they are just tiny specks in an unfathomable universe and that they can't even begin to imagine what it's really like. I think about how some people hardly have an imagination and put restrictions on their thoughts. What does that barrier feel like? how do they see the world from such a narrow perspective? Is everything more grey for them? I like to think about how good it must feel to be content in your own skin, to love yourself wholly. But mostly, I like to think about being happy. I like seeing close knit families, carefree life partners, radiant children. I like knowing that kids are growing up feeling protected and that someone somewhere is definitely getting married right now. I like the songs that hardly anyone has heard of and small concerts with everyone losing themselves to the noise. Everything seems so much more intimate in smaller groups. I like how affectionate girls can be after drinking a little too much. I like the confidence that alcohol can give to a person. I like that words on a page can bring you such a raw and emotional experience. Books are sacred. I like to think that eventually things do get better. I believe in soulmates and someone somewhere has definitely got their life together right now - and are as happy as they have ever been.
