"Fall From Grace" is my genesis Async Art piece. It's a play on the story of Icarus. How ambition and the pursuit of our desires can easily be convoluted or distorted by greed and lust. How it's ok to aspire and dream, but that there's a delicate line between desire and foolishness. Enjoying and being grateful for the journey itself is part of the dream, and ascending too high just means that there can ultimately be an even larger fall to the bottom. . . . DETAILS: •Layers: 34 Background Layers, 12 Middle Layers, 20 Top Layers •Resolution: 1620x2160 (Async), 5400x7200 (High Res) •Medium: Multimedia, Programmable •Software: Tilt Brush, Cinema 4D, Octane Render, Substance Painter, ProCreate, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop •Physical Canvas/Prints: If they so choose, the original buyer of the Master Layer can get in touch with me on social media to have a free physical 18"x24" Canvas Print or Fine Art Print sent to their address of choice. . . . PROCESS: This piece was created with an intention to use as many of my different creative skills / software knowledge as possible, while also iterating on years and years of personal aesthetic research and design theory. The first step involved sculpting the base mesh, rigging the model, splitting out the designated sections/pieces of the body, and then resuming sculpting and detail using VR & Tilt Brush. From VR, the 3D model was taken back and cleaned up in Cinema 4D and textured externally in Substance Painter. Once the model and texturing was to my liking, I consolidated my textures and set up my render scene/lighting using Octane Render in C4D. I exported a 2D still that I could paint and embellish with the floral pattern tattooed on the model's body. The still render was then hand-painted using my iPad/Procreate. The final step included me creating alternate background layers, hair/wire layers, and skin layers using bits and pieces from the previous processes. All the variants and pieces were composited in Photoshop, tweaked, color corrected, and styled to create the final composition consisting of 34 background layers, 13 mid ground layers, and 20 foreground layers.
