We were living in the future

And sometimes, when it strikes our fancy,
We go back to the future
And smile
Remember little J_______
Peeking over the lip of the photo
Confused
But Happy
For us and our pocket piece of the world
Because we took the pain
Broke the seal of fear
That most every other cousin of this generation
Would soon tear off with gusto…
