Part 2 of DarkMythst's Ugly Duckling SeriesIn this part, young TUD is soul searching and stumbles upon the first of its light (lessons). But from innocence, evil lurks behind. Its demons (ego. self) will challenge its journey. Will the evil within devour, scathe or partner with young TUD in its plight to purpose. In Part 1 - 'The Beauty Within',TUD left the community to escape the torment and bullying from the surrounding. In the first part, TUD sees itself in its reflection for the first time, acknowledging its own beauty and ready to journey on to the world. The story of TUD combines my story as well. It was the first children's story I remember being read to when moving to the US from Ghana. The story however had a negative impact on me as a child due to the nature of its story and the similarities to how I stuck out in a non-diverse education system, and how the children would replicate the story towards me. I related to the story, but take TUDs story to share it's perspective and its own journey to being the impressive swan it is at the end.
