Artist Jack & Leigh Ruby. “Car Wash Incident”, is based on one of our evidentiary photographs from 1973, (created to facilitate an insurance claim for our friend Matt who had fallen on hard times). The film involves 8 characters engaged in a repetitive circular narrative. It was created as a timed choreography shot as numerous continuous takes. The film was shot on high-speed 35mm film stock using 70's lenses, to replicate as closely as possible the look of our original photograph “Car Wash Incident”. This piece is a video transfer from the camera original of Take 1.
