Stan Smith: This token commemorates 50 years since Stan Smith’s 1971 US Open Title

A two-time Grand Slam singles champion, Stan Smith won the 1971 US Open before capturing Wimbledon the following year. The tall, lanky serve-and-volley specialist was a brilliant shot-maker and was particularly agile and fleet-of-foot, making him a particularly lethal threat in doubles as well, as evidenced by his 53 career doubles titles, complementing his 37 singles crowns. At the majors, he reached 13 doubles finals and won five, including four at the US Open across four different decades. Smith competed in this event 20 times, and from 1970-1974, he reached at least the quarterfinals each year.

This is a Blue Collectible player trading card highlighting a key career moment at US Open.
