Venus Williams: 2001 US Open Title

A legend both on the court and off, Williams' history at the US Open dates back to 1997, when she finished runner-up as a 17-year-old, the first woman since 1978 to reach a US Open singles final in her tournament debut and the first unseeded singles finalist since 1958. She went on to capture the singles trophy in 2000 and 2001, and doubles titles alongside her sister in 1999 and 2009. She holds the all-time US Open record for most tournament appearances by a woman with 22 and counting.
