Satellites tracks the narrative of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission, using the original mission transcripts to create unique generative, algorithmic forms born directly from key phrases spoken during this historic mission. Satellites serves not only to celebrate this amazing event but also the truly wonderful, seemingly impossible things human beings can achieve when we work together.
Brendan Dawes is a UK based generative artist. A Lumen Prize and Aesthetica Art Prize Alumni, his work has featured in many exhibitions across the world including Big Bang Data in thirteen cities, three MoMA shows in New York together with his Cinema Redux work becoming part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art in 2008. Most recently he was featured in the Aesthetica Art Prize 2021 Future Now Anthology.
